The Board of Directors of San Francisco Achievers (SF Achievers), a nonprofit youth development and scholarship organization founded in 2008 to address the achievement and opportunity gaps facing African American young men in San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), proudly announces the selection of Justin Woodard, Ed.D. as Scholar Success Program Manager.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Justin Woodard, Ed.D. as our Scholar Success Program Manager. He is a San Francisco native, educator and changemaker committed to closing opportunity gaps for our students along the pipeline from high school to college to career,” said SF Achievers’ Board Chair, Tarrell V. Gamble.
Dr. Justin Woodard brings to SF Achievers a life’s work with and in service to youth—ranging from pre-school age to college students—since 1998, including over 10 years of direct program coordination experience within the non-profit sector. In past positions, he coordinated college access and equity programs supporting diverse communities in the City and County of San Francisco and currently serves as a lecturer in the Asian American Studies Department at his alma mater San Francisco State University—teaching interdisciplinary writing and ethnic studies courses.
Outside of the classroom, Dr. Woodard volunteers as a steering committee member for Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education (APAHE) 2014-Present; SFSU Staff Advisor to Sigma Omicron Pi Sorority, Beta Chapter (2010-2017); Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Advisor, Omicron Zeta Chapter at CSU East Bay (2003-2006); and as a board member for the California Dragon Boat Association (2006-2008)
