Volunteers are an important part of our effort. Whether you want to mentor a Scholar or participate in one of our events, we welcome your engagement! Your support and commitment is appreciated!

PARTNER

Traditionally, our partners have enabled us to expose our participants to professionals and career opportunities, but we're developing new ways to partner with corporations and institutions every day! Join us in our effort!

Volunteer

We all have a vested interest in seeing youth succeed, and every year, supporters express that interest by volunteering. You choose to make a positive difference in the lives of our Achievers and Scholars, and your support is definitely appreciated.

Throughout our history, individual volunteers have played important roles; from interviewing potential Scholars, becoming mentors, and serving on career panels, volunteers help SFA expose our young people to and helps them take advantage of life-changing opportunities that not only impact their lives but the broader San Francisco community.

Mentor

Join a team of caring adults who support students in a meaningful way; help secure the promise and potential of African American male high school- and college students!

Mentors are caring advocates that help students accelerate learning and understanding; they ensure our Scholars are aware of college requirements, help navigate the social dynamics of college life, plan for their careers, and equally importantly, have someone who will share their experiences and help them make informed decisions.

If you are ready to make a difference in a young person’s life, become a mentor today.
