San Francisco Achievers offers 2- and 4-year college scholarships for graduating seniors who are African American young men attending San Francisco public high schools.

Requirements

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Copy of High School transcript (official or unofficial)
  • Essay: Describe your most meaningful achievements and how they relate to your future field of study (major) and future goals. This response should be no less than 500 words. The file types allowed: doc, docx, pdf

*Note some sections will require information from your parent/guardian, so consult them and obtain any missing information before beginning.  Please have your letter of recommendation ready to upload or you can email them to scholarsuccessprograms@sfachievers.org.

 

Summary

Students attending a 4-year institution receive $4,500 per school year. Students attending a 2-year institution will receive up to $2,250 per school year until they transfer to a 4-year institution, at which time they will be eligible for the $4,500 award per school year. In addition to scholarships, scholars are matched with a mentor and have access to other resources designed to support them on their college journey and beyond. Once in college, scholarships can be renewed based on specific eligibility requirements.
